Cycling is one of the optimum form of stamina training. It improves heart function and circulation and strengthens leg muscles and/or tone. Cycling is ideally suited as cardiovascular warm up or full workout with exertion zones and pedal rate. Cycling is also a worthy addition or calorific
burning aid. Please check your heart beats per minute (BPM) against your age chart provided below.Indoor cycling is more rigorous.

Equipment:
Indoor bikes are built for mimicking race bikes with free wheel capabilities. A large front wheel is balanced for smooth operation and allows high speed wheel spin and fast pedal action. Ideally suited to the race bike connoisseur, amateur and professional alike. Erogmeters are generally not presented in these machines. Power cables are therefore not generally required.

Look Out For:
Sturdy frame to your weight and personal strength ratio. As a guide use a bike which is capable with your normal weight with at least a 20% margin.  Seat comfort in line with normal race bike formats.  Seat adjustment is critical for ride
position so look for vertical and horizontal adjustment. Some of the better machines also allow levelling for perfect balancing of ride and the flywheel alignment, as well as the bike stability at high flywheel speeds. Review the brakes on bikes as safety is an issue with pedal engagement.  Callipers should always be present and safety mechanisms which disengage the pedals can be welcome.
